PRESS RELEASE – UK Tour 2012

Singer, guitarist, songwriter, and English Folk-Heritage Musician Phil Drane will be guesting at …………… on ……….. , mid-way through his latest extensive tour of the UK.
Phil is a Lancastrian now living in New Zealand who returns to the UK each year to tour folk venues from April to November. Since 2008 he has been delighting audiences throughout England and Scotland both as main guest and as support to major artists such as Dave Swarbrick, Kevin Dempsey, Bandersnatch, Dave Goulder, Jez Lowe and Steve Ashley.
He has been described as having on of the best voices in English folk and by British folk luminary Dave Goulder as being “Reminiscent of the very best exponents of English finger-style guitar …… Nic Jones and Bob Fox”.
His performances are an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary songs from his own Lancashire and English folk-heritage, self-penned compositions (perhaps the award-winning ‘Song For Jackie’?) and the odd surprise.
Audiences can expect original arrangements, smooth vocals and superb guitar work woven together with a touch of Lancashire chit-chat and dry wit – altogether an absorbing evening not to be missed.
Phil tours New Zealand folk venues from December to March each year also.
